The name ILLUMINATED honors the Sun, our ultimate light source, and the entire visible spectrum of light, from the brightest highlights to the deepest shadows. The VOYAGE collection, designed by Iiro A. Ahokas, the founder and design director of Atelier Ahokas, was crafted during spring 2016 in Manhattan, New York. The theme of the collection explores journeys to different times, places, and realities. Ahokas found inspiration in the irreversible, yet transient nature of time. VOYAGE takes you from forgotten cultures, continents, and creatures to futuristic megacities in space, from mythical enchanted gardens to uncharted interstellar landscapes. The collection intertwines dreams and reality, past and future, blending flavors from unexplored paths on Earth and the universe beyond.
